Parish Finance Council-
Assuring that all parish expenditures reflect
good stewardship, the Finance Committee aids the parish in the
administration of the parish's finances. They assess the
parish's financial condition, assist with budgets, review proposed
extraordinary expenses, study and propose funding sources, and
inform parishioners about the parish's financial condition.
They meet on a Wednesday morning the month following the quarter
end.

School Development Fund Board of Trustees-
Established in 1992, the Development Fund helps
provide long-term support for Defiance Catholic School. Five
trustees, the pastor, and the principal oversee the investments,
expenditures, and make sure the charter is followed. The board
meets quarterly.

Annual Catholic Appeal-
The ACA, entitled Disciples Growing Together, is
a direct appeal that provides income for the operating costs of
Diocesan ministries, programs, and services. This new appeal
replaces the annual Diocesans Development Fund for all parishes in
the Toledo Diocese. The campaign evolves over six weeks.

Maintenance Committee-
The Maintenance Committee appraises parish
buildings and grounds to ensure that they are kept in good condition
and makes recommendations to the pastor regarding any repairs,
revisions, or updates that my need to be made. Committee
members meet on an as needed basis.

Volunteer Receptionist-
Volunteer receptionists greet visitors and answer
phone calls at the parish office and help the parish secretaries
with projects for ½ day, as scheduled.

Sunday Contribution Counters-
Accomplished in strict confidence, counters
accurately count and record Sunday and Holy Day offerings, as well
as other special offerings. Counting usually takes 2 hours
each week.

Parish Bulletin Editor-
Our parish bulletin keeps parishioners informed
of parish, community, and Diocesan events. It also is a source
of inspiration and educates parishioners on timely issues facing our
parish, our Diocese, and the universal Church. Bulletin
articles are due by 9:00 a.m. on Mondays and the bulletin is
composed and edited on Mondays and Tuesdays, taking 6 to 7 hours a
week.

Minister of Mailings-
Volunteers assist the office staff when parish
mailings are scheduled. Each mailing usually takes 3 to 5
hours for a group of five to eight people.

Parish Website-
The parish website helps promote the parish and
provides information regarding parish events, as well as links to
other sites of interest. Updating the site takes approximately
½ hour per week.

Parish Newsletter-
Please call the parish office if you would like
to help with the parish newsletter. Newsletter volunteers will
collect information, edit it to a quarterly newsletter, and see
that it is mailed to all parishioners. The newsletter is an
important avenue to inform and evangelize to all parishioners. We
could use your help.

Parish Grounds and Landscaping-
Committee members serve to plan and maintain
parish grounds and landscaping. These men and women may spend
up to two hours an evening mostly during the summer hours.

Parish Pictorial Directory-
A church directory enables members to keep up
with one another by associating names with faces of registered
parishioners. A committee is formed to choose the company,
organize the taking of pictures, and create a layout for the
directory. New directories are issued about every five years
and are used as a special record of our church history.
